The sun has produced energy for billions of years and solar energy, perhaps the first renewable energy we think about, is the sun’s rays (solar radiation) that reach the earth.
There are 340 days of sunshine per year in Spain. This gives you the ideal opportunity to utilize solar power to heat your home, provide hot water or generate electric.

Solar energy can be converted into other forms of energy, such as thermal (heat) and electricity.

Thermal (or heat) energy is used to:

  • Heat water – for use in *homes, buildings, or swimming pools.
  • Heat spaces – inside homes, and other buildings.

*Since 2007, Spain has made it mandatory for all new buildings and major reform projects to install solar systems to provide domestic hot water.

Solar energy can also be converted into electricity using Photovoltaic (PV) devices or “solar cells”. These systems are often used :

  • In remote locations which cannot connect to the electric grid.
  • To provide your initial electric demand, thereafter switching automatically to the mains supply when this demand is exceeded.

A common worry expressed by clients thinking about a solar system is whether it will actually provide sufficient heating capacity in the days when there is no sun or at night when the sun always seems to disappear somewhere for a few hours. We can assure you that using the latest solar panel design and the use of efficient, insulated hot water storage, it will – but don’t take our word for it. Speak to some of our satisfied customers.

If correctly sized, installed and operated, solar systems will meet your requirements for 10 years or more, with little or no running costs.
